She was the widow of Elam S. Riehl, who died in December 1986. Born in Leacock Township, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie Stoltzfus Esh.

She was a member of the Old Order Amish church. She is survived by seven sons, Amos Steven E. and Jacob E. all of Lancaster; Samuel E. and Moses both of Gap; Aaron Brickerville; and Ephraim Kinzer; two daughters, Annie wife of Elmer F.

Beiler, Gap; and Elizabeth Mae, wife of Daniel S. King, with whom she resided; 37 grandchildren: 48 great-grandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren one brother, Samuel Esh Intercourse; and two sisters, Annie Stoltzfus, Gap; and Malinda, wife of Steven Stoltzfus, White Horse. Harry Bailey Sr. George Downey Trane retiree George Edward Downey, 74, of 620 Owl Hill Road, Lititz, died Saturday at his home after an illness of three months. He had been retired since 1982 from the J. J.Trane where he worked as a refrigeration mechanic. He had also been employed with the former Goodling Refrigeration Co.

He was the husband of Vivi- an L. Downey 1 for 31 years. Born in Lan- G. Downey caster, he was a son of the late H. Paul and Anna Diem Downey, and a stepson of the late Lloyd C.

Hess. A resident of Lititz for 32 years, he was a graduate of Girard College in Philadelphia and a veteran of World War In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, George, of Hershey, and six daughters: Paulette Downey, Lititz; Ann, wife of William Briskey, Altoona Grace, wife of William Smith, Altoona; Angela Jo Bardell, Altoona; Karen, wife of Clarence "Bud" Strohm, Lititz; and Babette, wife of Steven Duncan, National Park, N.J. Twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive, along with one brother, Paul, in Largo, and one sister, Mary, wife of Edward Kegel, Lititz. Joseph A. Danz, financial expert Joseph A.

Danz, 48, ot 2126 Connecticut Washington, D.C., formerly of 532 Vine died Saturday morning at the George Washington University Hospital, Washington, following a lengthy illness. Born in Lancaster he was the son of Ruth M. Lynch Danz, Lancaster, and the late Norbert P. Danz. He was a 'VA graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and the University of Louisville, Louisville, Ky.

He was em- ployed as a financial manage- J. Danz ment specialist for the U.S. Department of Labor for the past 20 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962 as an Airman First Class and in the Peace Corps between 1966 and 1968 in Kenya, Africa.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Pi Sigma Alpha fraternity. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are three brothers, Richard Woodbridge, Norbert Lebanon; Kenneth Lancaster; two sisters, Jean Staffieri and Margaret Gallagher, both of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews. Fox, 7, killed in crash Harold R. Work, 89, was painter Harold R. Work, 89, of 735 N. Franklin died Saturday at Lancaster General Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Clara M.

Zander Work. Born in Bart Township, he was a son of the late John and Lovetta McMinn Work. He worked for 44 years as a painter with his own business, retiring in 1967. He was a member of Ross United Methodist Church, Lancaster Chapter 530 of the American Association of Retired Persons, the Andrew H. Hershey Lodge 764 of Free and Accepted Masons and the Lancaster County Shrine Club.

He also served with Goodwin Council 17, Royal Arch Chapter 43, Commanding 13, Knights Templar, of the Reading Consistory of the Rajah Temple. A veteran of World War II, he was also a member of American Legion Post 34 and the Travelors Protective Association of America and an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Sara Ferguson, Lancaster, and Laverta Bossier, Lake Placid, Fla. Harry J. "Butch" Bailey 72, of 452 S.

Shippen died Saturday morning at his home following a brief illness. He was employed by the Federal Mogul Corp. as a set-up person for 36 years, retiring in 1981. Previously he was a truck driver for the former King Beverage Co. He was a longtime member of Local 1035 United Steelworkers of America, where he served in various offices.

He was the shop steward and vice president for the local and served a total of 16 years as president. He also served as the president of the local's retiree group. He was involved in the Labor Council legislative and education committees. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and a the Alert Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1690, Lancaster.

He was a past treasurer of the Riverside Club and was a member of the Riverside Camping Association. He was also a member of Fin and Feather Club and had served in the Pennsylvania National Guard with the 28th Infantry. In addition he played Santa Claus for many of the local clubs. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late James B. and Barbara Ann Schaefer.

He had been married to Lorraine E. Wright Bailey, who died in March. Surviving are three sons, Harry J. "Joe" Jr. and James both of Lancaster; John Willow Street; two daughters, Lorraine wife of Gregory Sheldon, Lancaster; Dolores wife of Larry D.

Rubenstein, Bellevue, 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Anne, wife of Oscar Barefoot, Mountville; Marie Richer and Nancy Kilheffner, both of Lancaster; and Jane, wife of John W. Lewis, Quarryville. Terre Hill, and Lori A. Fox Dudek, Terre Hill. She was a first grader at Blue Ball Elementary School and a member of Hopewell Mennonite Church, Elverson 111.

Besides her parents, she is survived by: one sister, Heather Lynn Dudek, at home; maternal grandparents, Paul W. and Marian Hersh Fox, New Holland; paternal grandparents, Norman and Marlene Shreiner Waltz Terre Hill; a maternal great-grandmother, Irene Hersh, Denver RI; a maternal great-grandfather, Ivan H. Fox, Ephrata R3; and paternal great-grandparents, Norman and Stella Waltz Narvon RI. Angie Lynn Fox, 7, of 401 W. Main Terre Hill, died Friday in a one-car accident on Hurst Road near Martindale.

She was pronounced dead on arrival at Ephrata Community Hospital at 9:26 p.m. An autopsy conducted by Dr. Enrique Penades found a neck injury to be the cause of death. The girl was a passenger in a 1983 pickup truck driven by her stepfather, Troy Christopher Dudek. According to Ephrata State Police Trooper Sidney Mentzer, the truck failed to negotiate a sharp curve at about 8:45 p.m.

and slid into a dirt embankment. Both passengers hit the windshield. Dudek suffered facial cuts that did not require hospital treatment. Born in Reading, Angie was the daughter of Richard A. Waltz, Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board say it may take up to six months determine the reason for the plane crash that killed an Elizabethtown family Thursday.

David W. and Joanne G. Peifer Sweigart of 189 Ridgeview Road Elizabethtown, and their daughter and son-in-law, Linda K. and Todd W. Butcher of St.

Louis, died when their Grumman American Cougar went down near Erie. The family was reportedly enroute to visit Butcher's family in Saginaw, at the time. Sweigart, 54, was the owner operator of Ridgeview Restaurant and Market in Mount Joy Township. His wife was a homemaker and partner in the family business. Born in Gap, Sweigart was the son of the late D.

Wayne and Mary Byler Sweigart. Born in East Petersburg, Mrs. Sweigart, 52, was the daughter of Fannie Groff Stoner, Lancaster, and the late Christian S. Peden The Sweigarts were members of Mount Joy Mennonite Church. Mrs.

Sweigart served on the executive committee of the Christian Women's Club. The couple also belonged to the International Flying Farmers, of which Sweigart was secretary treasurer. They are survived by two daughters, Brenda wife of Robert E. Neff, Elizabethtown; and Tricia Devon; one son, David W. III, Elizabethtown; and four grandchildren.

Sweigart also is survived by two sisters, Dorothy wife of Joseph Hostetler, Elizabethtown, and Nora wife of Glenn S. Good, Mount Joy R1, and one brother, Arthur Mount Joy Rl. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Sweigart is survived by her stepfather, John S. Stoner, Lancaster; two brothers, Melvin G.

Peifer, Manheim, and Christian G. Peifer, Ronks, and one sister, Irene wife of Robert Miller, Liberty. Todd W. and Linda K. Sweigart Butcher, both 24, were married June 11, 1988, and lived at 3000-A Victor St.

Louis. Their bodies have been sent to Saginaw for funeral services. Mrs. Butcher was born in Lancaster. A native of Saginaw, Butcher was the son of Wesley and Gayla Breternitz Butcher, Saginaw.

Mrs. Butcher was a member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church. Her husband was a member of the Swan Valley United Methodist Church, Saginaw, and also attended University United Methodist Church, St. Louis. A 1983 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School, Mrs.

Butcher graduated from Messiah College, Grantham, in 1988, where she earned a bachelor's degree. At the time of her death, she was pursuing her master's degree in dietetics at the University of St. Louis, where she was also serving an internship. Butcher was a 1983 graduate of Hemlock High School, Hemlock, and a 1987 graduate of Calvin College, Grand Rapids. Mich.

He was employed in retail sales by Schiller St. Louis. Mrs. Butcher is survived by her brother, two sisters and her maternal grandmother. In addition to his parents, Butcher is survived by two brothers.
