Orders from the country thankfully receive and columns of Le Courier des Etats-Unis. Its readers will be made acquainted with all remarkable events which occur in the domain of politics of science, arts or iterature. Political events are of primary importance. To diffuse throughout America a knowledge of those which happen in Europe, and transmit to Europe intelligence of those which occur id America, New York, from its geographical position and its frequent and regular channels of communication with different parts of the globe, is peculiarly adapted. 'A sense of pqppriety and their own inclination will lead the editors to abstain from an interferance with party politics in the United, States.

They will however publish all measures of general interest which may be adopted here, investigate their expediency, and discuss, when occasion calls for it, questions in political economy of doubtfL fluency. The institutions nf nations: their internal policy; their relations with one another; and uie effect produced by these circumstances on national or individual character, on public and private happiness; are topics of the highest importance. When we advert to the order of things in the United States, under these different aspects, it will be with that feeling of sympathy, which we take pleasure in saying, is the distinguishing characteristic of French writers. To France, a large space in Le Courier des Etats Unis will be dedicated. The acts of its government, the discussions of its legislative bodies, the dicisions of its tribunals of justice, and the news from Paris and the departments will be given.

The editors unhesitatingly avow their attachment to the great cause of civil and religious liberty throughout the globe, but in all cases they will carefully avoid extremes. The ebullitions of party spirit or personal animosity will be equally banished from their columns. Avowing frann -ly and expressing firmly own opinions of the best means of promoting the happiness of all, they will respect those of others who would attain the same end different means. Le Courier des Etais Unis will also An account of the proceedings of learned, literary and philanthropic societies, in Europe principally; whenever these proceedings may be interesting to Ameri-ca. Select extracts from periodical and other works published in France, Germany, Italy, and Holland, on the sciences, arfs, history, literature, ethics, politics, statistics, national industry, Reviews, from French and other periodical publications and newspapers of works printed in America and Europe.

Embracing objects so varied and extensive, the editors do not flatter themselves that their journal will in the commencement attain the perfection of which it is susceptible; its value will increase progressively as the arrangements they nave taken tne assistance which they have secured, and, in short, the various resources which they possess, become fully developed Firmly convinced, nevertheless, that their first numbers will wanting in interest, Jmt inspire a favor promptly attended to. It is desirable, however, that the liberty thus offered to subscribers, to withdraw, should not give rise to an idea that the appearance of Le Courier des Etats Unis will depend on the patronage which the publication of this prospectus may elicit. In all events, a determination is taken to ascertain, by an experiment of sufficient duration, whether a journal published in a language, the most universal of all modern ones, which is the medium of communication between the learned of different countries, which is exclusively used, in European diplomacy, which is the only one spoken in most of the courts of Europe, and which, even where it is not vernaefriar, is introduced in good society as well as in circles distinguished by rank and tide; whether a journal published in such a language, will not be favorably received in this hemisphere; particularly as the resources which its literature offers are not surpassed by those of any other.
